No. Resizing only changes pixel dimensions and file size — it does not check face position, head size, background, lighting, or any of the other rules a passport or visa authority actually enforces. Use "Check my photo for official requirements" after resizing if you need an actual compliance check against your specific document's published requirements.
No. Cropping, resizing, and compression all happen locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image is never uploaded anywhere by this tool.
The compressor searches for the highest quality that stays at or under your target size. Most photos land very close to the target, but extremely small targets (like 10KB for a large photo) may not be reachable without the image becoming unusable — if so, we tell you honestly instead of promising a size we can't deliver.
Upload JPG, PNG, or WEBP. Output as JPEG, PNG, or WEBP — JPEG and WEBP support a quality/compression setting; PNG is lossless and always exact, so it has no quality slider and no target-file-size compression.
Reducing dimensions or increasing compression can reduce visible quality, especially at low quality percentages. Enlarging a small photo doesn't add real detail — it can only stretch what's already there. For the sharpest result, start from the highest-resolution original you have.
