Passport photo vs. visa photo vs. ID photo
Passport photo
Required for a travel passport application. Size is set independently by each country — Vekyo's catalog spans four different published passport sizes, from the US's 2×2in (51×51mm) square to Canada's 50×70mm.
Visa photo
Required for a visa application — and not always the same specification as that same country's passport photo. For example, the US visa (DS-160) accepts a 600×600px digital-only upload with no printed size at all, a different requirement from the US passport's 2×2in print spec.
ID photo
A broader term for any national or government ID. Not every ID document shares its requirements with a passport or visa photo, even within the same country — the UAE's Emirates ID / Passport entry, for instance, uses 35×45mm as the most directly attributable figure found during our research, but our own sourcing notes flag that ID, passport, and visa services in the UAE can each publish different figures.
