Editorial Policy
Overview
Vekyo immigration guides are written by the Vekyo Editorial Team from official government sources. They are general information and are not reviewed by a lawyer unless a page says so. Corrections are recorded in the page history.
Who writes the guides
Guides are published under the byline Vekyo Editorial Team. We do not present anyone as an attorney, accredited representative or government employee, and we do not claim legal expertise. If a legal professional ever reviews a page, the page will name them and state the credential and where it can be verified. Until then each page says that it has not been reviewed by a legal professional.
Drafts may be prepared with the help of AI tools. A person on the editorial team checks each claim against the official source it cites before a page is published.
How a guide is produced
We start from official sources, in the order described in our sources policy, and write only what those sources support. Each factual statement is linked to the source behind it, and each page lists the sources it was written from, the date each was checked, and what it was used to support.
A page is not published unless it passes automated checks: every factual statement has an official source, a factual review has been recorded, the metadata and internal links are valid, and the page has a last-reviewed date and a change history. A page that fails a check is not published.
Updates and review dates
Each page shows when it was last reviewed. We change that date only when someone has actually re-checked the page, and we record every change in the page history. We do not alter dates to make a page look newer. Pages about information that changes often, such as the Visa Bulletin or the Diversity Visa program, say so at the top.
Corrections
If you think a page is wrong or out of date, you can tell us which page and which statement using the details on the contact page. When an error is confirmed against the official source, the page is corrected, the correction is recorded in its page history and the review date is updated. If an official source is unclear or sources disagree, the page says so rather than choosing a side.
Independence
Vekyo also operates photo tools for passports and visas. Where a guide links to those tools it is because they are relevant to the reader, and we keep those links limited. They do not influence what a guide says about immigration rules. Vekyo is not affiliated with USCIS, the U.S. Department of State or any government agency.
